Central
Ohio home sales are breaking the records this summer. Year to date
sales (15,988) are 24.2 percent ahead of last year and the highest
for the first seven months of any year recorded by Columbus
REALTORS®.
Last month’s 2,825 homes sales were the
highest on record for the month of July – and the third highest
month on record just slightly behind August 2005 (2,875) and June
2006 (2,872).

Buyers, who want to buy now, and Sellers who are ready to sell,”
said Realtor Phil Frye and CENTURY 21 Frank Frye Real Estate General
Manager.
Licking
County saw 237 single family and condominium home sales in July 2013,
a 62.3 percent increase from July of 2012, when 146 homes sold. In
Licking County, 1,517 homes sold from
Jan. - July 2013, up 23.1% from the same period last year.
In
addition to the increase in sales, home prices continue to rise
slightly. The
average sold price for Licking County homes sold for Jan. to July
2013 was $149,407, up 1.5% from the same period last year. The
average sold price was $159,286 in July 2013, an 8% decrease from
July 2012, when the average sold price was uncommonly high at
$173,078.
The
average days on market for a house until sale was 85 days, from Jan.
- July 2013, down 17.5% or 18 days compared to the same time period
last year.
The
number of Licking County home listings coming on the market as a new
listing for July 2013 was 322, up 29.3%, from July 2012, when there
were 249 new listings. For Jan. - July 2013, there have been 2,097
new listings in Licking County, up 17% from the same period last
year.
The
number of Licking County home listings going in contract in July
2013, totaled 239 homes.
The
inventory of homes for sale in Licking County in July 2013 was 1,106,
with 7.2 months supply of inventory.
