Grace Frye Sings National Anthem

Six and a half year old Grace Frye sang the National Anthem with Shawna Corder on Aug. 2 at the Licking County Settlers baseball game at Don Edwards Park in Newark. Her grandparents Frank and Phyllis Frye (left) cheered her on.

Click on the video below to see and hear Grace sing. The microphone cuts out a few times, but Grace and Shawna finish strong!

Grace takes singing lessons with Shawna at Martin Music in Newark, and has been practicing the Anthem with Shawna and her parents Molly and Phil Frye.

This is Grace's third singing performance in front of a crowd this year. In the Spring she sang a solo "Part of Your World" from The Little Mermaid at a Lakewood Schools fundraising event, and she also sang back-up on Sweet Home Alabama with The House Band at Park National Bank's Summer Spash at the Newark Maennerchor.

How did Grace celebrate her National Anthem debut? With Nachos and Cheese from the concession stand.

SUMMER SPLASH BASH

The House Band and Johnny Thief and The Kleptones (pictured left) rocked the Newark Maennerchor on July 25 as part of Park National Bank's Annual Summer Splash thrown in appreciation of local REALTORS with the Licking County Board of Realtors.
Many REALTORS and their guests attended the party that helped raise money for Licking County Habitat for Humanity.
Guests were treated to food off the grill prepared by PNB's Chuck Schultz. PNB's Barb Wilson, Danielle Burns, and Crew helped serve food in the kitchen, PNB's Jerrod Gambs and Ginger Varney manned the door, while PNB's Ed Lewis controlled the crowd.
The House Band members performing that evening included: Jim McKivergin (guitar/vocals), Pat Painter (lead guitar), Joe Wahl (drums), Jimmy Callen (lead vocals), Phil Frye (guitar/vocals) and special guests Joel Spahr on bass, Jeffrey Barrett on drums/vocals, Zack on drums, Grace Frye on tambourine/backup vocals, and LCBR Executive Officer Mark Evans on vocals.
Johnny Thief and The Kleptones includes: Joel Spahr, Julie Baker, Dave Redro, Pat Painter, and Joe Wahl.
REALTOR and LC Habitat for Humanity volunteer Maxine Becker Crabill lead the dance floor crew. A special thanks goes out to all of the event organizers and attendees.
