Home Sales Show Healthy Gains

November home sales in central Ohio showed healthy gains over last year. There were 1,923 residential sales during the month of Nov., a 30 percent increase from the 1,479 home sales in Nov. 2011, according to the Columbus Board of REALTORS®.


Licking County home sales are up 14.4 percent over last year. The 134 Licking County homes sold in Nov. marks a slight increase over homes sold in Nov. 2011. Year to date, 1,551 homes sold in Licking County from Jan. to Nov., up 14.4 percent over the 1,356 homes sold over the same period last year.


The average sale price for Licking County’s single family homes and condominiums year to date is $145,980, up 6.1 percent from homes sold Jan. to Nov. 2011. The average days on market for a house until sale is 99 days.


The number of Licking County home listings coming on the market as a new listing in Nov. totaled 109. The number of Licking County home listings going into contract in Nov. totaled 151 homes. The inventory of homes for sale in Licking County is 903 homes for sale through the end of Nov., with 6.6 months supply of inventory.

Parks, Keefe, and Scisciani Earn Sales Honors

Home Sales Are Up 15.3% Over Last Year

       Licking County home sales were up in October and are up 15.3 percent over last year.

     The 156 homes sold in October marks a 32.2 percent increase over the 118 homes sold in October 2011. Year to date, 1,412 homes sold in Licking County from Jan. to Oct., up 15.3 percent over the 1,225 homes sold over the same period last year.

     Licking County homes put in contract in October (186) were up 36.8 percent over a year ago.

     The average sale price for Licking County’s single family homes and condominiums year to date is $146,962, up 6.4 percent from homes sold January through October 2011.

     The average days on market for a house until sale is 97 days, up from 96 days one year ago. The inventory of homes for sale in Licking County is down 23.9 percent from last year with 981 homes for sale through the end of October. The months supply of inventory is down 32.6 percent from last year at 7.4 months supply.
