Licking County Homes Sales Up 20%

Central Ohio home sales for the first two months of 2013 were up 19.6 percent (2,878),
compared to last year (2,406). There were 1,452 home sales in February, which is 14.9
percent higher than in February 2012, according to the Columbus Board of REALTORS®.

We haven’t seen sales increases like this since housing peaked in ’06 and ‘07,” said
Chris Pedon, President of the Columbus Board of REALTORS®. “We are looking at a
new housing market; one that’s smart and affordable, but also competitive.”

Licking County saw 103 single family and condominium home sales in Feb. 2013, up 15.7 percent from Feb. 2012. For the first two months of the year, 204 homes sold in Licking County, up 20 percent over the same period last year.

The average sold price for Licking County homes sold in Feb. 2013 was $129,864, down 8.1 percent from Feb. 2012. For the first two months of the year, the average sold price for Licking County homes sold was $129,898, down 1.6 percent over the same period last year.

The average days on market for a house until sale was down 1 day at 110 days in Feb. 2013, compared to Feb. 2012. For the first two months of the year, the average days on market for a Licking County home for sale was 100, down 9 days over the same period last year.

The number of Licking County home listings coming on the market as a new listing in Feb. 2013 totaled 239, up 12.2 percent with 239 new home listings in Feb. 2012. For the first two months of the year, the number of Licking County homes listing coming on the market totaled 438, up 1.4 percent over the same period last year.

The number of Licking County home listings going in contract in Feb. 2013, totaled 158 homes. The inventory of homes for sale in Licking County in Feb. 2013 was 847, with 5.9 months supply of inventory.
