LC Home Sales are up 8.2% this Year!

Licking County’s average home sold price was $176,175 from January through October of this year, up 4% over the first ten months of 2015. There were 2,103 existing homes and condominiums sold in this year’s first ten months, up 8.2% from the same period last year when there were 1,944 homes sold, according to the Columbus REALTORS Multiple Listing Service. 

"There were fewer houses and condos listed in October, making it a good time to list with less competition," said 2016 Licking County Board of REALTORS President Lisa Stewart. "Demand is strong as buyers put more houses in contract this month compared to last month. Our market remains steady into the final quarter of the year."

The inventory of homes and condos for sale in Licking County was 552 at the end of October, with a 2.6 month’s supply of inventory. There were 199 new listings that came onto the market in October, a 16% decline from October 2015. 

The average sale price of a Licking County home during the month of October was $175,383, which is a .01% dip from September 2015. There were 208 homes sold in Licking County in October, a 14.9% gain over September 2015. Homes sold in October, spent an average of 41 days on market (from listing to close), down 37.9% from 66 days in October 2015. Homes going into contract totaled 231 in October.
