Home Sales Show Healthy Increases!

Central Ohio home sale activity showed healthy increases during the first quarter of 2013. Residential home sales (4,844) were up 17.6 percent over the previous year (4,119) and the number of pending sales (3,245) was up 19.3 percent from the first three months of 2013 according to the Columbus Board of REALTORS®.

Licking County saw 317 single family and condominium home sales during the first quarter of 2013, up 2.9 percent from the same period last year. The average sold price for Licking County homes sold in the first quarter of 2013 was $131,122, down 8.4 percent from first quarter last year.

Licking County saw 113 single family and condominium home sales in March 2013, down 18.1 percent from March 2013. The average sold price for Licking County homes sold in March 2013 was $132,380, down 15.6 percent from March 2012.

The average days on market for a house until sale was down 13 days at 103 days in this first quarter of 2013, compared to the first quarter of 2012. The average days on market for a house until sale was down 20 days at 105 days in March 2013, compared to March 2012.

The number of Licking County home listings coming on the market as a new listing in the first quarter of 2013 totaled 725, the same number as the first quarter of 2012. The number of Licking County home listings coming on the market as a new listing in March of 2013 totaled 287, down 2% from March of 2012.

The number of Licking County home listings going in contract in the first quarter of 2013, totaled 485 homes. The number of Licking County home listings going in contract in March 2013, totaled 221.

The inventory of homes for sale in Licking County in March 2013 was 885, with 6.1 months supply of inventory.
